It seems like winter has finally arrived this morning! Here is what we will be working on in English this week:
- response to literature: Thurgood Marshall (we will be working on pulling information from text and using that information to write an informative essay)
- phonics: guardian consonants - when a vowel is followed by a guardian consonant and nothing else, the vowel sound is short.
- phonics: guardian consonants - when a vowel is followed by two guardian consonants, the vowel sound is short.
- phonics: nouns (words that mean person, place, or thing)
- phonics: spelling with -ck
- phonics: common words (my, than, first, water, been, call, who, oil, now, find
- continued practice with double- and triple-digit addition and subtraction with/without regrouping
- daily 5/power hour: continued practice to become better readers, spellers, and comprehenders
